Yesterday I had the chance to catch up with a long-lost friend, and it was what they call "empowering" in some circles. There's just something very heartening about not seeing someone for years and being able to pick up right where you left off with them, even when that's nowhere near where you are today. Every relationship should be so effortless, although if that was the case, what the hell would I bitch and write about?

(I should mention, by the way, that this particular compadre of mine was the originator of this timeless theory. Clearly, she is a woman of infinite wisdom.)
